I passed by this place one sunny September day in between house viewings in the area. Absolutely starving having not eaten since the previous evening, I stopped off with the naive notion of finishing off one of the enormous fry ups I'd spotted customers digging into.
Prices are very very reasonable, especially considering the size of portions. The menu is a no frills, east end affair. Fry ups, burgers, strong hot brew. Had a HUGE plate of liver & onion with a heap of chips, beans and bacon plus a cup of tea for under £6.
Was lovely to sit outside in the sun and share my ketchup bottle with the regulars at the next table (a couple of elderly locals who were lovely to chat to.)
A little sad as I ended up not moving to the area so will probably not get too many chances to stop by again but if I'm ever starving and poor, I know where I'll head to.

It is what it is - a greasy spoon cafe - but with a coffee machine.

I ordered a Tea - I'm pedantic about my tea - the cup was not a coffee cup (which is always  a good surprise) - it was brewed well! Happy

The price for a latte and a tea was £2.5 - thats cheap.

The decor - was clean, plasticky, but on the high end of greasy spoon, low end of cafe - I'd say its pretty darn good for the market it is aiming for!

This is a great little place serving lots of good proper meals; a range of fried breakfasts, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, pasta and rice dishes. All are quite reasonably priced and servings are quite generous. So much so, in fact, that when coming here regularly for my lunch at one point, the waitress used to scold me for not eating it all. I noticed she did that with everyone if you didn't eat your bacon or your greens. You bend your head in shame and say sorry mom. So basically, remember that if you're eyes are bigger than your belly.
But it is quite a friendly place and seemingly overlooked, because it's generally not so crowded at lunchtime compared to neighbouring cafes which aren't as nice.
